Moral injury has exploded into contemporary research in trauma and distress and is rapidly considered one of the largest psychosocial hazards of modern times. Moral injury is the impact following a significant transgression or betrayal of our core moral framework that can have devastating impacts on mental health and wellbeing including suicide related behaviour. Many workplaces are vulnerable to moral injury including first responders, military, lawyers, teachers, journalists, psychologists, doctors and social workers.

The workshop will provide a comprehensive account of what moral injury is, and importantly what it isn't (PTSD) as well as providing a practical understanding for both clinicians and non clinicians. The workshop also provides practical application of an evidence based moral injury tool to help clinicians to both have a conversation about moral injury and help clients identify their own moral injury to support therapeutic interventions.

The workshop provides the fundamentals of moral injury as well as a range of tools be able to identify moral injury and support people who may be experiencing moral injury.
