Kesi-Maree Prior, a proud Bidjara woman, Culture Care Connect Coordinator for the Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance. Living and working on Karriyara country and across the Pilbara region for more than 17 years. A youth worker by qualification, Kesi has worked across various social support and mental health roles supporting, children, young people, families, and communities. Since 2019 Kesi has worked in the suicide prevention and postvention space supporting the communities of the Pilbara region to be suicide safer. Kesi is passionate about empowering communities to make positive changes to increase mental wellbeing and prevent suicide. Kesi believes that building capacity in communities comes from knowledge, being a LivingWorks registered ASIST/ I-ASIST and safeTALK trainer she works to support building the skills and capacity within community that can and does save lives.
