Lennart Reifels
Lennart Reifels is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, and Visiting Research Fellow at the Disaster Research Unit, Department of Political and Social Sciences, Free University of Berlin. Dr Reifels has extensive research and work experience in academic and national mental health service settings, encompassing research, direct service, and national training management roles. His research program aims to tackle shared complex challenges with a view to advancing population mental health, suicide prevention, and disaster risk reduction, including scholarly contributions in the fields of epidemiology, comparative policy, and mental health services research. Dr Reifels leads the operations of the Lifeways consortium in Australia with a mandate to provide national leadership in suicide prevention research and foster effective research translation into policy and practice. He regularly serves as scientific advisor to key national and international agencies.
