Michelle Townsend
Dr Townsend brings together two decades of expertise in responding to adverse childhood experiences. Her research spans the disciplines of psychology and public health with the goal of understanding, preventing and responding to child maltreatment, self-harm and suicide. Dr Townsend is a passionate advocate for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families. As a collaborative researcher, working with children, young people, parents, carers, health and child protection clinicians, educators and government agencies in developing research, resources, and interventions is a key focus of her work. Dr Townsend welcomes opportunities to work in partnership to respond to significant social and public health issues facing society.
