Saori Yamashita
Saori Yamashita is a Project Officer and Peer Volunteer Support of Active Response Bereavement OutReach (ARBOR) program, which is one of the Anglicare WA’s suicide postvention programs. Her role involves facilitating monthly suicide bereavement support groups in Perth metropolitan area and coordinate peer support volunteers who contributes in support groups and individual/couple counselling sessions. With own lived experience of suicide bereavement, Saori used to be an ARBOR peer volunteer before coming into this role and is passionate about offering best possible support to people in the community though the blend of lived experience and therapeutic approach. Saori also works as a clinical social worker in Royal Perth Hospital (general medicine) and is originally from Japan, migrated to Perth in 2018.
