Cassandra Talbot
Cassandra is a dedicated healthcare leader who grew up in Rural NSW. She is a Registered Nurse currently working as a Nurse Specialist - Suicide Prevention and previously as a CNS in emergency. As the Manager of the Healthy Minds and National Rural and Remote Suicide Prevention Programs, who has a Bachelor of Nursing Hons, Graduate Diplomas in Emergency Nursing and BA, Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing, and is studying a Master of Mental Health Nursing.
Cassandra also volunteers internationally for Girl Guides Australia and facilitates leadership development for the movement. Cassandra's global impact includes setting up remote health clinics in Thailand, promoting health education as a lecturer in Vietnam, and training communities and healthcare professionals in suicide prevention techniques as an ASIST trainer.
With a focus on social determinants of health and rural and remote health, Cassandra is passionate about improving health equity for rural and remote communities.
